About Amelia Brunt

All of Amelia’s work is centred around supporting the people who support the people. Working in trauma informed ways, whether in education, mental health care, domestic abuse or youth work (as just some examples) demands huge amounts of emotional labour. In order to keep our people and our systems well and running smoothly, it is vital that we provide the space for compassionate conversations and restorative reflection. Amelia works with people working in schools, virtual schools, therapeutic services, charities and CICs. She also trains others on the need to be trauma informed in our supervisory approaches and models of best practice. Amelia is also a Therapeutic Menopause Coach and works with people to better understand the psychology of the menopause transition. As a developmental psychologist Amelia is interested in the impact of developmental trauma across the lifespan, and particularly during midlife for people in the helping professions. You can read more about some of Amelia’s thinking on this in Chapter 14 of Conversations that make a difference for practitioners; Caring for the people who care
