About Immaculada Matthews

I am a supervisor of educators and a researcher whose work is rooted in relationships, professional identity and ethical dialogue. I work alongside teachers, school leaders and education professionals, creating reflective spaces that help people navigate the complexity of educational life with greater clarity, compassion and confidence.

Drawing on experience across teaching, SEND leadership and headship, I bring both strategic understanding and a deep appreciation of the emotional and relational realities of working in schools. My practice now centres on supervision, supporting educators to sustain themselves as well as those they lead and care for.

I am Co-Chair of the Supervision in Education Network, helping to develop supervision across the education sector through collaboration, advocacy and professional dialogue. Alongside my practice, I am undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Education, exploring how supervision contributes to professional identity, sustainability and the flourishing of educators.

Originally from the Philippines, I grew up in Canada and have made London my home for the past two decades. These experiences continue to shape my interest in identity, belonging and the relational spaces where people feel able to think, grow and reconnect with what matters most.
