With 30 years in education and seven years as a Headteacher, I founded Better Balance Education in 2022 to protect the mental health of those on the front line. I believe that for educators to provide the best care for students, their own emotional well-being must be actively sustained. My mission is to empower staff through resilience-building and structured support, ensuring they have the internal resources to thrive.

I specialise in high-quality reflective supervision for DSLs in order to support them to navigate the profound emotional complexities of their work. I help DSLs to process the heavy burden of safeguarding, directly strengthening their professional resilience and mental clarity. This ensures they are not just coping, but are emotionally equipped to lead safely and effectively.

Complementing this specialised work, I design and deliver broader staff support programmes. Developed in partnership with schools and national providers, these bespoke initiatives foster a whole-school culture of well-being. While my work with DSLs addresses the unique demands of safeguarding, these broader programmes provide the tools necessary to support the entire workplace.

I am also a trustee of a specialist residential SEND Academy Trust, committed to inclusive educational excellence.
