Kamelia Johnson

Kamelia Johnson is a Safeguarding Consultant and Supervisor with extensive experience of safeguarding leadership across education and youth-facing settings.

She provides confidential, reflective supervision to Designated Safeguarding Leads and safeguarding professionals, creating protected space to pause, think and explore the complexities of safeguarding practice.

Her approach combines support with professional challenge, helping supervisees strengthen professional judgement and curiosity, explore complex decision-making and risk, recognise the emotional impact of safeguarding work, and maintain healthy professional boundaries.

Kamelia has a particular interest in reflective practice, DSL wellbeing and sustainable safeguarding leadership. Her MA research explored the impact of safeguarding supervision on DSL decision-making, risk escalation, and wellbeing, further informing her supervision practice.

Her approach draws on established supervision theory, including Morrison’s 4x4x4 model, alongside her developing SAFE Supervision Framework: Support, Analyse, Frame and Elevate.

Kamelia believes that supporting the professionals who carry safeguarding responsibility ultimately contributes to stronger safeguarding practice and better outcomes for children and young people.
