Marie Delaney

Marie is a Director and Co-Founder of Trauma Responsive Education. She is a teacher, educational psychotherapist, trainer and writer now based in Crosshaven, Cork, Ireland. She has extensive experience of working with students and teachers affected by traumatic experiences, having worked in non-formal education, mainstream and special school settings in the UK and internationally. This has driven her interest in bringing insights from fields outside education into schools, notably ideas from neuroscience, attachment and trauma theory.  She now works mainly with schools on providing safe, trauma informed supervision for staff and school leaders.

Her publications include for Worth Publishing ‘Teaching the Unteachable’ ‘What can I do with the kid who?’  and  ‘Attachment for Teachers’. and for Oxford University Press, ‘Into the Classroom : Special Educational Needs ‘

When not working, she is a dedicated and ever optimistic supporter of Leeds Utd Football Club and Tipperary hurling, keeping Ryanair and Aer Lingus in business.
